Hi, I'm David Drewelow, Head Coach for the USA Iowa/Nebraska ActionCOACH Team.  We are helping business owners in our territory "to acheive their dreams" as we coach and mentor them to greater success and profitability in their businesses!  If you desire to be part of a very fast growing profession that is very rewarding, then we may have several opportunities available for you to consider as we look to build our territory.  To help you determine if you are the right  "fit" let me describe who we are looking for.

The first group of people I am looking for are people who want to own their own business...

As you look at ActionCOACH, keep in mind we have two franchise ownership opportunities available; our Firm Model, a multiple 8-license franchise, which is similar to an area developer and our Practice Model, a single-license franchise.  

Firm Areas:  To begin, let's look at the designated Firm Areas in Iowa and Nebraska.  The Firm Area Model is an equity-building business opportunity where you, as the Firm Owner and CEO, build your Firm over a two-year period with a minimum of eight business coaches and a business development, marketing, support and admin team.  This is an excellent CEO model that can allow absentee ownership using a good General Manager.  Each coach within your Firm will genearate an income stream from on-going client fees and those coaches are called a Nominated Business Coach.  We have eight (8) Firm Areas within our Territory; one is sold, three are currently "under offer" with four others still available.

Firm #2 - Iowa City...  Includes Iowa City, Oskaloosa, Ottumwa & SE Iowa.  AVAILABLE
Firm #3 - Davenport...  Includes Davenport, Clinton, Muscatine & Fort Madison.  AVAILABLE
Firm #4 - Ames...  Includes Ames, Ft. Dodge & Marshalltown.  AVAILABLE
Firm #5 - Des Moines...  Includes Des Moines metro.  UNDER DEVELOPMENT
Firm #6 - Sioux City...  Includes Sioux City, Storm Lake, Norfolk & Columbus. AVAILABLE
Firm #7 - Omaha...  Includes Omaha/Council Bluffs metro. UNDER DEVELOPMENT 
Firm #8 - Lincoln...  Includes Lincoln, Grand Island, Hastings & Kearney. AVAILABLE

Practice Owners:  Our second level franchise is our Practice Owner model, a single license franchise.  This is typically a home-based cashflow business where the Practice Owner focuses on building a base of 12 to 15 one-on-one coaching clients.  We can currently award Practice Owners in most of our marketing, however we are focusing on Davenport, Decorah, Mason, Newton, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.  

The second group of people I am seeking are a few good people looking for a career change...  

Business ownership may not be for you because you don't have the investment right now, or quite simply you just want a different job.  We also are looking for a some great coaches, or as we call them, Nominated Business Coaches (NBC's), to join existing Firms to help them add coaches to their local teams.

Nominated Business Coaches & Business Development Managers:  We have Firm Owners looking to hire Nominated Business Coaches and Business Development Managers for positions in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Dubuque, Des Moines and Omaha.  Both positions are independent contractors and if you have interest, please look at the upper right side of this page and click on the FREE COACH TEST box.  By completing the survey you will see how you might stack up as a potential Nominated Coach within one of our Firms.

Okay, let me tell you about my journey into business ownership and how I got into ActionCOACH...  

The summer after high school I started my first business. What started as a job to paint one house led to four summers of painting hundreds of houses, barns, buildings and a few other interesting projects. Upon graduating from the University of Northern Iowa my crew had grown to four college buddies and I, as the boss, enjoyed my freedom, flexibility and financial reward. It was then that I fell in love with the idea of being a life-long business owner.

However, upon graduation I gave up my painting business because I believed that my education was to prepare me for a job. Needless to say, between my first business experience and growing up with a very independent and entrepreneurial dad, being a business owner was my on-going dream. And during my 25 years prior to joining ActionCOACH I looked at every job as if it was my own business.  That attitude has served me well in my experiences of non-profit management, media consulting, radio production, newspaper marketing and ad agency sales.

In 2000 I started looking at business opportunities in earnest.  After careful consideration, in 2002, I purchased the ActionCOACH Master territory for Iowa. Since then I have awarded ten franchises in Iowa. In 2003 we added Nebraska to our territory and have awarded three franchises in the Husker state. I coach, mentor, teach and present to thousands of business owners on local, regional and national levels. It's a passion of mine and I love it!  And my team of coaches does many similar things as well.

In the Iowa/Nebraska territory, our team of ActionCOACH certified business coaches work with hundreds of small to medium sized business owners every day. And we know that we literally impact thousands of business owners and their people across our region. I view this as grass roots economic development.
